Excursions
Guided Walk of Freistadt (included) Linz (included). Enjoy a walk with local guide of the historic city of Freistadt.  We continue by coach to the city of Linz for a sparkling wine reception, followed by a guided tour of the city highlights and free time.
Vienna (included). By coach to Vienna for a full-day visit. Our optional guided sightseeing tour (included on SILVER
SERVICE) introduces the principal sights of the city, including the Hofburg Palace, Parliament building, Opera House, National Theatre and the City Hall. We pass the famous Prater Wheel, before returning to the centre via the former imperial boulevard known as the ‘Ringstrasse’.

Passau with guided sightseeing and Cruise (included). By coach to the border town of Passau.  Considered to be one of the most spectacular settings in Germany, Passau’s magnificent St. Stephen’s Cathedral is certainly worth a visit, being home to the world’s largest organ. Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour, before rejoining our coach to Scholgen, where we board our ship. Enjoy coffee and cake, as we cruise downstream to Linz, then back to our hotel by coach.coach.
Durnstein with Cruise to Melk (included). We travel by coach to Durnstein, and the ruins of Kunringer Castle, where Richard the Lionheart was reputedly held prisoner.  Continue by coach to Krems, where we meet our ship for the cruise along the Danube to Melk, home to one of the most famous monastic houses of Austria.  This is one of the prettiest stretches of water along the Danube.  Enjoy dinner on boars ship, before we return by coach to our hotel.
Cesky Krumlov (optional). By coach into the Czech Republic, to the medieval town of Cesky Krumlov, one of the most beautiful towns of southern Bohemia, with its imposing 13th-century castle. The rich Renaissance architecture still reflects the influence of the nobility who lived here in the 14th century, bringing with them great affluence, commerce and culture.

Your hotels
You’ll stay for six nights at the 3-star Hotel Goldener Adler in the centre of the old walled town of Freistadt, located 25 miles north of Linz in Upper Austria. The hotel has a restaurant, T.V lounge, small garden area, bar and lift.  All bedrooms have T.V. and telephone. Also offered is the complimentary use of the hotel’s jacuzzi, sauna and steam bath. 

Please note: On some occasions we may stay at the sister hotel, the 4-star Goldener Hirsch in Freistadt.  Overnight stays in Belgium are in city style hotels.
