Holiday itinerary
Day 1 UK to Liege - To Dover for the ferry to Calais, from where we continue our journey to our overnight hotel.
Day 2 Liege to Munich - We journey to Germany today where we enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in the Munich area.
Day 3 Munich to Trieste - After breakfast we continue our journey crossing through Austria and into Italy, to reach the historic Adriatic city of Trieste for dinner and an overnight stay. (3*).
Day 4 Trieste to Lovran - Today sees us travelling into Croatia, and exploring the beautiful Istrian Peninsular, including the ancient town of Pula and beutiful Rovinj. We continue to the seaside resort of Lovran on the southern side of the peninsular, for our two night stay at the Hotel Lovran (3*).
Day 5 Lovran - A day at leisure in the resort of Lovran, or join an optional excursion to see the highlights of the beautiful island of Krk. This area of Croatia has been a popular holiday destination for centuries, and its easy to see why, with quaint Venetian towns, pretty ports, and a beautiful coastline.
Day 6 Lovran to Split - We leave Istria behind today, as we head southwards along the stunning Croatian coast to the historic city of Split. On arrival, enjoy an included walking tour of Split, where we visit such highlights as the Roman Palace of Diocletian, and the maze of streets in the old town. Enjoy time at leisure in this fascinating city, before we make our way to our overnight at the Hotel Art located just outside of the city, close to the port (4*).
Day 7 Split to Dubrovnik - We depart Split, firstly to Omis, with opportunity to join an optional boat ride along its famous Gorge formed by the River Cetina. From Omis we head south once more towards Dubrovnik, the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’, a breathtaking walled city which is picturesquely sited between the Dinaric Alps and the Adriatic Sea.Dubrovnik Upon arrival in the city, enjoy an included city tour, before heading to our hotel for the next two nights, Hotel Ivka, which is situated just outside the city (3*).
Day 8 Dubrovnik - A day at leisure in one of the most attractive cities of Europe. The old town dates back to the 13th century, and is remarkably unchanged. It is completely encircled by walls, with just two entrances in to the city, both leading to the main promenade, the Stradun. Within the city there are many sights to explore, including the Franciscan monastery, the Rector’s Palace, and a stunning cathedral.
Day 9 Dubrovnik to Zadar - From Dubrovnik we head to historic Zadar, a centuries old city located on its own peninsular. Once the capital of Dalmatia, the old city is a maze of narrow and charming streets which are a delight to explore. Zadar is also home to a unique Sea Organ, which uses the waves of the sea to create music. We stay for two nights at the Hotel Porto located just outside the old city (3*).
Day 10 Zadar - Spend a day at leisure in this stunning city, exploring the delightful old town.
Day 11 Zadar to Lake Bled - From Zadar, we travel to the ancient capital of Croatia, Zagreb, home to the Presidential Palace and wonderful old winding streets. We continue to the shores of Lake Bled for an overnight stay at Hotel Astoria (3*).
Day 12 Lake Bled to Karlsruhe - From Zagreb we head through the Alps to Austria and on to Germany, for our overnight stay at the Queens Hotel in Karlsruhe (3*).
Dy 13 Karlsruhe to Northern France - We head for Northern France for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 14 Northern France to UK - To Calais for the ferry crossing to Dover, and then onwards home.
