Holiday Itinerary
Day 1 UK to Reims
To Dover, accross to Calais, and then on to our overnight stop in the Reims area.
Day 2 Reims to Lake Lucerne
Continuing south, we head in to Switzerland and the shores of Lake Lucerne for our overnight stay at the Hotel Hertenstein, Weggis (3*). (B,D)
Day 3 Weggis to Lake Maggiore
Crossing in to Italy, we make our way leisurley to Stresa on the shores of Lake Maggiore for our four night stay at the wonderfully located Hotel Milan Speranza au Lac in the centre of this delightful resort (4*). (B,D)
Day 4 At Leisure on the shores of beautiful Lake Maggiore.
Why not take a stroll along the lakeside promenade, browse the delightful shops, or enjoy a delicious coffee in one of the many pavement cafes? Alternatively join our optional half day excursion to Lake Orta, one of Italy’s smallest lakes, with its picture postcard medieval village known locally as ‘Venice without water’ where narrow cobbled streets run between pastel washed houses. Day 5 Lake Como
Lake Como is an area of outstanding natural beauty, with a colourful shoreline punctuated by tiny ports and vibrant villages and backed by rugged mountain scenery which falls in to the shimmering waters. We spend the day exploring
some of the delightful lakeside villages, and there will be opportunity for those that wish to take a lake cruise and stop in delightful Bellagio set on a peninsular in the centre of the lake. (B,D)
Day 6 Day at Leisure
Enjoy a day at leisure in Stresa, or why not join our optional excursion to the enchanting Borromean Islands, set in the centre of Lake Maggiore. Visit the quaint ‘Fishermans Island’, and the regal ‘Isola Bella’ with its fine palace and
gardens. (B,D)
Day 7 Lake Maggiore to Lake Garda via Lake Iseo
Time to leave Lake Maggiore, as we head east to discover more gems of this region. We stop on the shores of Lake Iseo, a delightful glacial lake in the Bergamo province. Iseo is often overlooked next to its larger, more illustrious neighbours, but it just as beautiful. We take a cruise on the lake, and take time to stop on Monte Isola, the lakes delightful island complete with its own village. From Iseo, we head to Lake Garda and our resort for the next three nights, Riva del Garda, where we stay at the Hotel Bristol, a favourite with our customers for many years. (B,D)
Day 8 At Leisure
Enjoy a day on the shores of Lake Garda - wander around the delightful streets and alleys of Riva del Garda, or join our optional excursion to the nearby villages of Malcesine and Limone (reached by boat). In Malcesine, the cobbled streets of the old town are teeming with shops, bars, cafes and restaraunts all watched over by the 13th century castle, whilst Limone is and artists paradise with two colourful ports and houses covered in geraniums and bougainvillaea. Day 9 Sirmione & Bardolino
We head to the southern end of Lake Garda today, to visit beautiful Sirmione, set on its own peninsular on the lake, and then on to pretty Bardolino on the Eastern shores of the lake. After free time to explore enjoy the scenery as we take the lake road back to Riva. (B,D)
Day 10 Riva del Garda to Niefern
We leave Lake Garda and Italy behind today, as we begin our journey north again, to the Queens Hotel in Niefern for our overnight stay (3*). (B,D)
Day 11 Niefern to N. France
Continuing north, we head back in to France for our overnight stay in the Lille area. (B,D)
Day 12 N. France to UK
We head to Calais for the crossing to Dover, and then home. (B)
