Holiday itinerary
Day 1 UK to Paris - Relax aboard your Grand Tourer coach as we cross to Calais and then head to Paris for an overnight stay.
Day 2 Paris to Bayonne - Sit back and ejoy the changing panorama of the French countryside, as we head to Bayonne for an overnight stay. (B,D)
Day 3 Bayonne to Madrid - To Spain and its vibrant capital, Madrid, with the opportunity to enjoy our optional tour of the city by night. Stay overnight at the 4* Hotel Senator. (B,D)
Day 4 Madrid to Estepona - Southwards to the Andalucian coastal resort of Estepona, for a 2 night stay at the lovely 4* Crowne Plaza Resort, with swimming pools and beach access. This delightful resort if full of pueblo charm and character and scattered with narrow cobbled streets, lined with unusual shops and bodegas. (B,D)
Day 5 Estepona - Enjoy our included guided excursion to the unique rock of Gibraltar. This duty free country is stepped in history and boasts an enviable location at the southernmost point of Europe. (B,D)
Day 6 Estepona to Fez - Today we follow in the footsteps of the Moors, taking the ferry from Algeciras across the Straits of Gibraltar into Tangiers, where we meet our Moroccan guide. We progress to Tetouan for a fascinating insight into local life. On to Fez for 2 nights at the 4* Ramada Fez. (B,D)
Day 7 Fez - A full day exploring the oldest Imperial city in Morocco. We visit the old Medina and Fez El Bal, the Andulusian and Karaouine quarters, where we will see the dyers, tanners and artisans still working in the style of their forefathers. We also take in the Meilah, the Jewish quarter, with its old cemetery and the stunning Royal Palace. (B,D)
Day 8 Fez to Marrakesh - We journey south today to reach the most famous of the Imperial cities, Marrakesh. The journey takes us through fabulous scenery, from the near-Alpine surroundings of the Ceddar forests of Azrou, through the fruit-growing region of Beni Mellal, arriving at Marrakesh towards the end of the day. For dinner we attend the fabulous Chez Ali Fantasia, a spectacular evening including dinner, folklore and an equestrian show. We stay for 2 nights at the 4* Tichka Hotel in Marrakesh. (B,D)
Day 9 Marrakesh - A full day exploring Marrakesh. We visit the Medina, a labyrinth of small streets and alleyways, fulled with shops and stalls selling everything imaginable, with an aroma of saffron and orange blossom among sacks of almonds piled high. We also take in the Manara, surrounded by magnificent gardens, an oasis of peace amid the bustle of Marrakesh. If the king isn't in residence we'll also visit the 19th-century Bahia Palace. Also no visit to Marrakesh would be complete without seeing the famous Djemma El Fna square with its fortune tellers, dancers, snake charmers and water sellers. (B,D)
Day 10 Marrakech to Tangiers - Northwards to Casablanca, visiting the magnificent Hassan II Mosque. On to Rabat, the Imperial Capital, and the Mausoleum of Mohamed V. Then to Tangiers and the 4* Hotel Solazur for the night. (B,D)
Day 11 Tangiers to Granada - We take the ferry back to Algeciras, continuing in the footsteps of the Moors to Granada, for 2 nights at the 4* Hotel Los Angeles, close to the Alhambra and with a wide range of facilities, including an indoor and outdoor pool. (B,D)
Day 12 Granada - Explore this Moorish City, with an included tour of the spectacular Alhambra Palace and Generalife gardens. (B,D)
Day 13 Granada to Burgos - We head to Burgos, staying for one night at the 4* Hotel Corona de Castilla. (B,D)
Day 14 Burgos to Bordeaux - Back into France for an overnight stay in Bordeaux, famous for its wine and chateaux. Time to explore this historic city at your leisure. (B,D)
Day 15 Bordeaux to Paris - We head to the romantic capitl of France, Paris, where we rest on our overnight stay. (B,D)
Day 16 Paris to UK - Today we head to Calais, enjoy our voyage across to Dover, and then home. (B)
