A relaxing and varied tour around some of Italy’s most beautiful sights combines the glamour of Rome with the ancient history of Pompeii,tracing the founding of Roman Italy and relaxing in the stylish resort of Sorrento, set above the crystal blue waters of the Bay of Naples.

Holiday itinerary
Day 1 UK to Rome - Fly to Italy’s capital and a transfer to the 3* Hotel Torre Rossa Park (or similar) on the city’s outskirts for dinner and a chance to meet fellow travellers.
Day 2 Rome - A full day to explore the Eternal City, with an included guided tour of the city by coach as in introduction to the day. The rest of the day is yours to see the endless sights of this wonderfully romantic place, including the Vatican, the huge Colosseum, the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain, where you can toss in a coin for good luck.
Day 3 Rome to Sorrento - A morning visit to the Castelli Romani, or ‘castles of Rome’, once the country retreat of wealthy Romans, is followed by a trip to the village of Castel Gandolfo, home of the Pope’s summer residence. We then head to Sorrento, one of Italy’s best holiday resorts, with its pretty marina, relaxed atmosphere and fantastic shopping for four nights at the 3* Hotel Tirennia (or similar). The hotel also offers a wonderful rooftop terrace where you can relax with a refreshing drink and soak up the sunshine.
Day 4 Pompeii and Vesuvius - The eruption of Vesuvius in AD79 engulfed Pompeii in a cloud of ash and lava, creating the finest monument and most complete record of everyday life in the Roman Empire to be found anywhere. A guided tour takes you to the mosaics, shops, villas, theatres and streets of this city, before a visit to the mighty volcano itself that broods mightily over the Bay of Naples. Please note - Entrance fees for Pompeii and Vesuvius are not included, however, discounts may apply.
Day 5 Sorrento - A free day to relax and do as you please in your resort base before the evening’s entertainment of Neapolitan music. An optional excursion is offered to the beautiful island of Capri in the Gulf of Naples.
Day 6 Herculaneum & Naples - A chance to experience the archaelogical site of Herculaneum where time stood still when Vesuvius errupted. You’ll also visit the city of Naples with some free time to explore the National Archaelogical Museum. NB - Entrance fees for Herculaneum and the museum are not included, however, discounts may apply.
Day 7 Sorrento to Rome - A leisurely drive back to our 3* Hotel Torre Rossa (or similar) for an overnight stay.
Day 8 Rome to UK - Transfers to the airport and flights back to the UK.
